Report: what Brockwell Lido really means to our community

We're pleased to share the findings of an independent report that captures, in numbers and in words, what many of us have long known: Brockwell Lido is far more than a swimming pool.

BLU commissioned independent researchers PatchWorks to gather evidence about what the Lido means to the people who use it. More than 1,200 people took part, including 717 regular users and 507 members of the wider community.

The findings are striking. Among regular users, 94% said the Lido is a place that really matters to them, 92% said it supports their emotional wellbeing, and 88% said it improves their physical health. Again and again, people described the Lido as somewhere that supports health, confidence, belonging and local identity. It is so much more than a place to swim.

This evidence matters. BLU is now using the report to inform conversations with the council about the Lido's future, including investment, governance, access and community programming. It helps us make a constructive, well-evidenced case for how the Lido should be protected, improved and opened up for everyone.
